After returning from the exchange student meeting, we remembered we had forgotten to get anything out of the freezer for tea!! Organised as usual!! So we decided to go out for something to eat instead. We ate at Frankie and Benny's (Italian/American style family friendly restaurant). The food was very nice, it always is when someone else cooks it lol. When our main course arrived the waitress unfortunately managed to knock my plate all over the floor!!! Smashing the plate and liberally spreading the meal all over the place!!! Woops!! Not sure how they did it, but I had a replacement meal in minutes - perhaps some other diner waited longer?!?! Little Prince had a great time, slurping pasta and trying to persuade Fraulein that she should eat it like that too!! She was much more ladylike about it :-) At the end of the meal all Little Prince wanted to know was "Can I have a balloon?" He was very good and managed to very politely and confidently ask the waitress for a balloon, which she gave him. On the short walk through the car park - he was playing hit big sister (Little Miss Sensible) with the balloon, when the inevitible thing happened!!! The treasured balloon came loose from its string and floated off into the night sky!!! And Little Prince was left forlornly holding the empty string!! Oh dear!! He didn't quite cry, but was upset and kept asking if his balloon was flying to Disney!! He then decided it was mine and LMS's fault that he had lost his balloon - I knew it would be my fault in the end lol. As my mother used to say "A mother's place is in the wrong!"
