Exchange Student Meeting

Been quite a busy day. Started off with Mr Messy driving for 2 hours (ish) to drop Drama Teen off with a friend from CLAPA camp. She is staying with the friend for the weekend, and Mr Messy will pick her up after work (a conveniently arranged appointment nearby!!) on Monday afternoon. So Mr Messy has been very tired and headachy all day! About lunchtime our mobile hairdresser arrived to cut everyone's hair, I've gone quite a bit shorter, supposedly funkier, but I'm not that sure!! It might grow on me lol :-) Little Miss Sensible decided that she wanted a new look for university and had about six inches cut off!!! You should have seen her face when she saw how much hair was falling to the floor!! She has got the colour charts off the hairdresser and he's coming back on Thursday to dye it - flame colours is what she likes so far - reds, browns and blondes all at once!!!

This afternoon we all made our way to a nearby village hall for the Exchange Student meeting. It was totally boring!! The regional organiser went on and on about what the students couldn't do - seemed like she was telling them off and they haven't done anything!! I suppose some of them might need the 'tonne of bricks' approach, but Fraulein is so lovely and quiet and shy, that she doesn't need that sort of 'pep talk' and all it did was worry her!!! Poor kid she has been absolutely brilliant so far, and this wasn't really needed. The other students were mostly the fashion concious (or is it victim!) cool types, and didn't really let her join in. She said she felt very out of place and uncomfortable - poor little lamb, we gave her a big hug.

The one consoling thing about the whole meeting was another 'host mum' there with her little kids (a 2 year old and a 6 month old). The two year old was asleep so I helped take baby out of his buggy so the toddler could go in. I did tease the mum that I wasn't giving baby back - was I joking?!?! Then later on toddler woke up and wanted to play out, just as baby wanted to go to sleep - so I got to cuddle baby to sleep :-) How long do I have to wait for MY baby???? I want my baby NOW NOW NOW!!!!
