SN application progress

I got the copy of the letter our LA are going to send to the DFES today. It looks good to me, and so now me and Mr Messy have given it the OK, it should be sent off to the DFES pretty soon. I've got our personal application letter (in Chinese) printed off and ready to send to the DFES tomorrow too. Once the DFES have both our letter and our LA's letter, I'm hoping they don't hang about and get them all sent to the CCAA soon :-) I'm not sure how long it will take for the CCAA to confirm/deny that we will be able to move to the SN expedited queue, but I'm hoping it won't be too long :-)

After BLAS submitted our extra paperwork to the CCAA. We got confirmation about 5-6 weeks later. I didnt hassle them and just send a very polite email every 2-3 weeks ( 2 in total) asking if they had heard anything:), before we got confirmation. So I hope to hear that bottle of bubbly being opened in a few weeks:)

Hi S,
Thanks for that info, I think I can cope with that sort of timescale :-)
Take care

Scary thing they also peeked at our file and said there were no problems which was reassuring! We have been reviewed and it was totally painless!

Hope your timescale is as quick as well. The CCAA are normally good at making decisions. Are you going to DHL the paperwork to the CCAA?

I'm going to talk to DFES tomorrow and check what they want to do about notarising the letters - another UK family says they didn't notarise, but DFES are saying they think we might have to!! And while I'm talking to them I'll tell them I want to DHL the letters over to the CCAA, it was great KNOWING they had arrived and even who had signed for them!!

I only notarised copies of certificates and passports of T's parents and his birth certificate. I didnt get any of the letters notarised.

Email BLAS and ask for their advice. Ask them to let you know urgently! You may get a response in time!

There is no harm notarising, if they are unsure. Its just the hassle of getting it done and money. We paid £50 for the additonal documents its much cheaper than the original bundle and you can go to any notary:)

Hi S,
Fab idea - I've just emailed BLAS to ask them :-) I'm hoping they get back to me quickly, but at the speed DFES work it won't make too much difference in the timescales if they take a while lol.
Thanks again - you're a star :-)
