He was a bit excitable when we got to the playground, running around a lot, but he kept coming back to me or Little Miss Sensible to hold hands, before running off again. Both his nursery teachers (who will be helping in the class this morning) were there in the playground to greet the little ones - Little Prince was a bit shy at first, but that didn't last long! Then all of a sudden the whistle blew and the children were lining up at the door (all 12 of them - perfect class size for Little Prince :-) ). I wasn't the only mum who presumed we would be going into the cloakrooms with them, to be surprised that the children were whisked off and in before we had chance to do anything!! Was this for the children's or the mum's benefit - none of us got a chance to cry!! I honestly thought I would cry, but he was whisked off so quickly that he was gone before I got too emotional!!
We then all piled in to see the school secretary, to pay the term's dinner money and to buy another couple of school sweatshirts. Managed the dinner money fine, but they have no stock of school sweatshirts, so Little Prince will have to carry on squeezing into his too small ones for now, until the new order comes in! From the office I could see into Little Prince's classroom, and he was sat on the carpet nicely with his girlfriend - so he was very happy. He noticed all the other children were sat crossed legged, so he did too, and was trying to attract the teacher's attention to show her how clever he is!! One last peep before leaving and he was still sat nicely and attentively listening to what the teacher was saying - hope it lasts!!!
Walking back home without Little Prince didn't seem too bad, chatted to the mum of one of Little Prince's friends - she was also a bit shell shocked at how quickly they had been whisked into class!! She was talking about getting a puppy as she won't know what to do with herself all day - she laughed and said we should have another one. She was very happy for us when I explained that we are planning just that, and that our papers are in China right now. Seemed a bit perturbed about how long it will take - but aren't we all!?!
Got back home and the house is SO QUIET!! Mr Messy went upstairs to his office to get some work done, and Little Miss Sensible is also up there - not sure if she's gone back to bed or if she's on her computer!!
